Victor Perlroth, M.D., CEO & Cofounder

Victor Perlroth, M.D., serves as Chief Executive Officer & Cofounder of Oligasis. Previously, Dr. Perlroth served as Venture Partner and then Entrepreneur in Residence at MPM Capital, a dedicated healthcare venture capital investment firm. Dr. Perlroth has also served on the steering board for the immunology drug development unit of a top-five global pharmaceutical company. Dr. Perlroth cofounded Avidia, a biotherapeutics company, where he served as General Manager and Vice President of Corporate Development. In this role, at various times he had management responsibility for Avidia’s activities in the areas of finance, business and corporate development, licensing, planning for non-clinical and clinical development, intellectual property, corporate law, human resources, facilities and operations. He was one of two principals involved in the acquisition of the company by Amgen for $450 million ($360 million upfront plus $90 million in milestone payments). Prior to Avidia, Dr. Perlroth was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Maxygen, where he was hired to spin-out the Avidia technology into a new company. Earlier, Dr. Perlroth worked at Guzik Technical Enterprises, the industry-leading provider of test equipment to the hard disk drive industry, where he was Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Perlroth earned his M.B.A. and M.D. degrees from Stanford University and an A.B. in Molecular Biology summa cum laude from Princeton University.
